You will need: A sharp pair of scissors, an old kitchen knife, 8 laundry pegs (the spring clip kind), a source of harakeke (NZ Flax) OR an old calendar or firm paper or canvas that can be cut into strips for weaving.

You can complete the experience in less than a day or spread it out over a few days - whichever suits you. Allow about an hour for each part.

The Māori Weaving Experience has been designed specifically for beginners however, even experienced weavers have told us they learned knew things participating in the experience.

We intend to keep the experience available for as long as possible, however we cannot guarantee that free access will remain available indefinitely. We encourage you to make the most of the lessons while they are available and begin your journey now rather than waiting for “the perfect time”.

Absolutely, you can. You will find more information about Weave-Togethers in the links at the bottom of this page.
